Beyond the Board: My Spiritual Awakening Through the Leela Game

Discovering the Leela Game

When I first heard about the Leela game, I was in Bali, seeking relaxation and maybe a little bit of spiritual growth. I had no idea that this ancient Indian board game would completely transform my life. Leela, also known as the game of self-discovery, promised to offer insights into one's consciousness and spiritual journey. I thought, "Why not? I’ve done so much personal development already. What more could I possibly learn?"

I went into the game with a sense of complete confidence. Over the years, I had attended numerous workshops, read countless self-help books, and engaged in various forms of therapy and meditation. I believed I had a thorough understanding of myself and that I will finish the game in no time. I was, after all, quite "developed"—or so I thought.

The Game of Life Begins

The game began with a beautiful setup in a tranquil space, with a serene facilitator guiding us through the process. Each movement on the board, determined by rolling dice, represented different aspects of my spiritual journey. The game promised to reveal my subconscious mind and highlight areas in need of attention or growth.

As the hours passed I found myself repeatedly being pulled down to lower levels of the game. Each roll of the dice seemed to drag me back to spaces representing obstacles, fears, and unresolved issues. It was frustrating. All I wanted to do at that point was finish the game and go relax at the beach.

It was during this prolonged period of struggle that I had an epiphany. My perception of being "developed" was merely a façade, a comfort zone I had built around myself. The game revealed hidden fears and unresolved issues I wasn’t even aware of. It was a humbling experience. I realized that self-knowledge is not a destination but a continuous journey.

The Breakthrough

Somewhere around the seventh hour, things began to shift. The relentless pull-downs forced me to confront deep-seated fears and insecurities. The facilitator's guidance and the game’s symbolic nature provided the perfect environment for these realizations to surface. I started to see patterns in my life that I had ignored or been unaware of. The game was not just a game; it was a mirror reflecting my true self.

During the game, I also found myself wanting to manipulate the outcome, hoping to finish earlier and escape the discomfort of repeated setbacks. My frustration grew with each pull back, and I kept strategizing ways to reach the end quicker. However, it wasn't until I surrendered to the process, accepting that I would finish when the time was right, that the game shifted. In that moment of surrender, I let go of control and trusted the journey. Remarkably, within a few throws, I reached the end, realizing that true progress comes when we release the need to control and simply allow life to unfold.

After completing the game, I felt an incredible sense of clarity and liberation. The insights I gained were profound. I understood that personal development isn’t about reaching a state of "completion" but about continually evolving and being open to new learnings.

Life after Leela

When I returned home, the lessons from the Leela game stayed with me, shaping my perspective on daily life. I began to view each situation through the lens of the game, recognizing how certain reactions and thoughts mirrored the pulls that had dragged me down during play. Whenever I encountered challenges or felt stuck, I saw the parallels to the obstacles on the board. This awareness made me realize that my negative reactions and limiting beliefs were like the game’s setbacks, holding me back from progress. By identifying and addressing these patterns, I started to navigate life more mindfully, allowing for personal growth and greater self-awareness.

I was utterly amazed by the transformative power of the Leela game and couldn't keep it to myself. I shared my experience with friends and family, and their enthusiasm was palpable; everyone was eager to play and explore its insights for themselves. Inspired by their interest and a persistent inner voice urging me to spread the game’s wisdom further, I decided to deepen my understanding and learn how to facilitate Leela games. This new path not only allowed me to help others embark on their own journeys of self-discovery but also reinforced my own commitment to continuous personal growth and spiritual development.
